Whitewater River Rafting



Dangerous yet exciting this is how one can define rafting which is basically a recreational activity utilizing a raft to navigate a river or other bodies of water. Now a days rafting is considered as a dynamic way to do the Great Outdoors, while rafting one can enjoy great views of the scenery from the river, plus the thrills of rough water. Rafting is usually done in whitewater or different degrees of rough water, in order to add thrill and excitation to the adventure of raft passengers.

In earlier days rafting was used by shipping personals for hunting and transferring food but in mid 1970’s rafting got it recognition as leisure sport and from then onwards became famous day by day.

Safety comes first for everyone as rafting can be a dangerous sport, especially if basic safety precautions are not observed. Risks in whitewater rafting stem from both environmental dangers and from improper behavior. In the past there have been too many accidents. So one opting for an activity like rafting one should always keep in mind what safety precautions he or she must take. But as the years have passed rafting has become much more safer now a days with the increase of more expertise and equipments which have become more specialized and increased in quality

Like all other adventurous sports rafting should also maintain a healthy balance between nature protection and nature use. In recent times conflicts have also arisen with environmentalists for this very reason some rivers now have regulations restricting or specifying the annual and daily operating times.

Apart from all these conficts and danger rafting is still gaining popularity among extreme water sports in order to thrill and excite the raft passengers
